Coarsely chop the walnut kernels and roast them briefly in a frying pan without fat until they begin to smell fragrant. Remove the nuts from the frying pan and set aside. Add the butter, maple syrup and sugar to the hot frying pan and heat while stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Add the walnuts to the mixture. Stir everything heartily and remove the frying pan from the plate on the spot.

The amount on a cutting board form a little bit and cool at least an hour, then chop with a sharp knife into pieces.
