Make the spaghetti al dente in sufficiently well salted water according to the package instructions. Finely dice the onions and gently sauté in hot oil, but do not let them brown! Only at the end, when they are soft, add the garlic through the press. Dip the tomatoes briefly in the pasta water, rinse with ice cold water, then skin and remove the seeds. Cut the meat into cubes and add to the onions. Season everything with salt and add pepper, pluck the basil leaves and stir two thirds of them into the cooking pot. Finally, stir in the dripping spaghetti, adding the remaining basil leaves and the cheese, cut into centimeters.

Immediately bring to the table – you don’t need parmesan for this dish!
