Instructions:

For rum flavored cherry blossoms, quickly knead all ingredients for shortcrust pastry into a smooth dough and chill for 1 hour.

Roll out the dough and cut out flower shapes. Preheat oven to 160 degrees convection and bake cookie blossoms for about 10 minutes.

When cool, assemble 2 blossoms at a time with some nougat. Heat the punch glaze in a water bath or in the microwave according to instructions and stir in the rum.

Glaze the assembled cookies with the finished punch glaze and top with quartered cherries.

Preparation Tip:

Rum flavored cherry blossoms make a nice souvenir. It looks especially pretty if you make a few cookies with white sugar icing and put them mixed on a plate or in a tin.
