Instructions:

For the lentils with bacon, rinse the lentils in a colander and drain. Wash, peel and dice the potatoes.

Cut bacon into small cubes. Finely chop onions, parsley and chives. Clean, wash and finely grate root vegetables. Fry bacon in a pot until translucent, add onion and root vegetables and let steam briefly.

Stir in lentils and potato cubes. Add salt and pepper. Chop basil. Stir in parsley, sugar, chives, mustard, vinegar and basil.

Serve the lentils sprinkled with bacon.
