Instructions:

For the baked chicory, first grease a baking dish. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.

Wash the chicory, cut it lengthwise in the middle and cut out the stalk. Bring water with lemon juice to a boil and cook the chicory in it for about 5 minutes. It should still be firm to the bite.

Butter the toast slices and cut them into cubes. Roughly chop the tomatoes and mix them with some liquid from the can, toast, thyme, salt and pepper.

Place the chicory in the baking dish, fill with the tomato mixture and pour a little soup over it. Spread the grated cheese on top. Place in oven until cheese is melted.

Portion the baked chicory and serve.

Preparation Tip:

Gratinated chicory is best served with fresh salad.
