Preheat the oven to 150°C for the cherry marzipan cake. Butter the loaf pan (capacity 2 liters) and sprinkle with flour.

Sift flour with baking powder.

Cut marzipan into pieces of about 1 cm and stir in.

Beat butter with sugar, vanilla sugar and 1 pinch of salt until fluffy. Add eggs gradually and mix well.

Fold in flour-marzipan mixture, yogurt and cherries.

Spread the mixture evenly in the pan and bake in the oven (lower rack) for about 90 minutes.

Remove cherry cake and let rest for about 10 minutes, then turn out and lift off the pan.

Before serving, sprinkle the cherry cake with powdered sugar.
