For the beer casserole, coarsely dice the smoked meat, chop the shallots very finely and slice the white bread or rolls. Heat some butter in a pan, sauté the shallots in it and briefly toss the diced smoked meat in it.

Grease a suitable baking dish well with butter. Now place the slices of white bread in the dish, sprinkle with a little beer, spread some of the smoked meat on top, sprinkle with beer cheese and chopped parsley and repeat this process until everything is used up. The last layer should be the cheese.

Mix milk, Scotch, whipped cream, eggs and egg yolks well with the spices and pour over the casserole. In a well preheated oven, bake the beer casa casserole at 180°C until light brown.
